Admissions
The Three Trees Infant Academy and The Three Trees Junior Academy are under the aegis of Derbyshire County Council regarding admissions, and follow the structure and procedures laid down in their Coordinated Admissions Scheme by Derbyshire County Council regarding the admissions process, and admissions to school.
Derbyshire County Council is our home authority. Pupils requesting placement for admission to one of our schools from out of authority (for example, from Derby City) must apply to their home authority for a place in school.
Derbyshire County Council will coordinate the admissions process into school, and inform parents accordingly. Schools may no longer accept approaches directly from parents, or convey decisions regarding school places. No place may be offered directly by the school.

Mid-Term (in-year) Admissions Arrangements
If you are thinking of moving your child(ren) to our school, in the first instance, please contact the school to arrange a visit via 01283 217680 or office@threetrees.risemat.co.uk to enquire if we have places available in the relevant year group(s). We will offer you a tour of the school with a representative from our leadership team.

Appeals
If your child has been refused a place, you have the right to appeal this decision.
If your application is unsuccessful, you can appeal to an independent panel. Please contact Derbyshire County Council School Admissions and Transport Team for more information:

Online Appeals Portal: Derbyshire County Council Appeals
They coordinate admissions and appeals for most schools in Derbyshire, including Three Trees Academies.
Primary and Junior Transfers: Appeals are usually heard by 21 July 2025.
In-Year Admissions: Appeals are heard within 30 school days of being lodged.
Infant Class Size Appeals: For Reception to Year 2, class sizes are legally capped at 30 pupils. Appeals in these cases are only upheld under specific circumstances, such as procedural errors or decisions deemed unreasonable.
The decision of the independent appeal panel is final and binding on all parties. You cannot submit another application for the same school in the same academic year unless there is a significant change in circumstances.
For more information on the appeals process, visit the UK Government's School Admissions Appeals Guide.
